Below is the final Massachusetts Federation of Young Republicans ("MFYR") 2007 Republicans Helping Republicans ("RHR") schedule. Please review, and forward to as many people as possible. We had many requests for help, and we tried to accommodate as many local candidates as we could throughout the state. This schedule supersedes any other, and there are a few changes we had to make to accommodate candidates' and our own busy schedules.
I am writing to ask Republican activists, young and old, to come help us if we are coming to your area. The Democrats bring in people from all over to work on local elections, and we should also. Please email me if you want to help, and if you are on a city or town committee, please forward, or consider joining our efforts. This is especially true if there are no Republicans running in your area. The message needs to go out that we can be effective if we pool our resources.
I am also attaching a PDF of the upcoming MFYR/MASS GOP day on September 29 in Chelmsford. Our MFYR State Convention will be from 9am - 11am, and then the MA GOP will be offering any interested activist voter vault training, which we will use to help in the 5th Congressional District Race. The cost is $20 to help defray our costs, and the education is worth the price. If anyone is interested in being a delegate or guest to the MFYR State Convention, please get in touch with me. We have a great group going, but we want new blood to participate, so we hope if you haven't been involved before, you will come see why 2007 and 2008 are the best time to join.
We have been working hard this weekend also. On Saturday, the Greater Boston Young Republicans volunteered at Saturday's Bread (SB), the local soup kitchen we have been involved with for six years. The Brookline TAB did an article about the work we do at the soup kitchen, focusing on myself and my predecessor, Meredith Myers. I am including a link to that article (http://www.townonline.com/brookline/homepage/x1359806538).
On Sunday, six (6) YRs were at MA GOP headquarters helping get out a 2000 piece mailing, and today fifteen (15) of us marched with Paul Ferro in the Marlboro Labor Day Parade.
I hope many of you will come out to join our RHR efforts this fall, and come to the Activist Conference/State Convention on September 29. If anyone needs to reach me, you can contact me via email here, my yahoo email (richardhwheeler@yahoo.com), or via phone @ 617 872 0096. Thanks very much, and again, please look below for when we are in your area, and join us.
Regards,
Richard Wheeler
Acting Chair
MA Federation of Young Republicans

Pursuant to the MFYR Constitution, which requires Amendments be submitted to the Executive Committee and Club leaders sixty days before a State Convention or Special Meeting, attached is the Constitution with proposed changes in red, and present parts stricken out. Please review. Changes to these amendments, and any other new amendments may be made at the Special Meeting on September 29. If anyone has additional amendments, or changes they would like to see, please let the Executive Committee know so they can be distributed and discussed.

Message from the Chair:
As you know, the MFYR board has been without an Immediate Past Chair since Karl Burns stepped down in August. I have decided to appoint Tim Gillespie as my Advisor to the Chair in his stead. I think most of us know what a superb race that Tim ran this year, and someone with his drive, energy and ideas is a fantastic addition to the board.
So welcome aboard, Tim!

U.S. Senate Debate; Canceled for April 20, 2006
The debate of Ken Chase and Kevin Scott set to take place at Suffolk University at 8:00 P.M. has been canceled. Below is a statement from Chairman Karl Burns.
"We are a party of ideas, and the Young Republicans have worked hard to provide an arena in which both candidates could present their ideas and let the voters decide."
"It's unfortunate not all parties are willing to participate in this event, as this would have provided the best media coverage opportunity to date for both Ken and Kevin."
"In fact, we have the technology to not only re-broadcast the debate, but to provide copies to each candidate for distribution to prospective voters, and delegates at the State Convention on April 29th."
"We wish both candidates the best in their campaigns but will remain neutral per our Constitution, and so we can sponsor events like this in the future."
Karl Burns
Chairman, Massachusetts Federation of Young Republicans.
The Massachusetts Federation of Young Republicans is comprised of young professionals between the ages of 18 and 40, who belong to a nationwide network of like-minded individuals.
